| The concept of an EAP started in America in the early 1940's. The companies offer EAP to solve the problems of alcohol and drug abuse so as to improve employees' mental health and physical health. With the expansion of the multinational corporation and the intercourse of culture between countries, EAP spread all over the world. EAP made great progress not only in America but also in Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and UK and so on. To the end of 1990's , over 90% of the world 500 strong enterprises have internal EAP or external EAP.Based on the fundamental theories of EAP, the thesis conducts a study of EAP application in the Chinese enterprises. Firstly, it gives an analysis of the EAP application in the United States, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and other developed countries and regions, and it gives significant reference of experience and enlightenment to our enterprises on EAP application and promotion. Secondly, a systematic analysis was carried out on the condition, content, pattern, type and function of EAP service, laying the foundation for the study of EAP application in the Chinese enterprises. Thirdly, it analyses the constraints and basic premise of the EAP application in the Chinese enterprises and basic elements.Finally, through a case to expound how to establish an Chinese EAP model, The basic steps include drawing up a plan of EAP, looking for external EAP provider, training about EAP, assessing stress and finding problems, searching out reasons and solving problems, the evaluation of efficiency. And it makes an optimistic outlook on EAP application in the Chinese enterprises. |
