Research On Scale Economy Of Decentralized Milk Cow Breeding

As the increasing of the Chinese people's income and the changing of the consumption concept, the consumption of dairy products increased rapidly, raw milk production soared in the stimulation of the consumption. In the past 10 years, China's raw milk production growth rate ranked first in the world. However, there are many key issues under the rapid growth of the raw milk, such as the decline of the dairy farmers, the greater pressure of the food safety caused by the feed grain demand of the milk cow breeding, the shortage of the arable land and pasture resources can't meet the growing needs of milk production, which restrict the long-term sustainable development of dairy industry.As China's major milk cow farming mode, milk cow decentralized breeding by the farmers has the issues, such as low income of the farmers and the low utilization of the feed, so the improving of the economic benefits of the decentralized mode and the utilization of the feed is critical for the long-term sustainable development of dairy industry. The purpose of the study is to explore which factors affect economic efficiency of the decentralized mode the utilization of the feed; how to improve the income of dairy farmers, and ensure the supply of milk cow feed; which farming scale is the most conducive to improving farmers'income and savings feed grain.In this paper, the author built the theoretical basis through the review of the theory of the scale economy, summed up the production status of the decentralized mode by reviewing the relevant research and analyzing the existing data, made the questionnaire survey to farmers who breed decentralized milk cow in Huhehaote, Inner Mongolia, and then made quantitative analysis on cost-benefit situation of the farmers, the utilization of the feed and the main factors. The result showed that the benefits of the decentralized farmers is related to the flowing factors:the farming scale, breeding organizations model, aquaculture technology and the variety of the cattle and so on. At the scale of 6-10, milk cow produce the highest performance, farmers can maximize revenue and can savings feed grain effectively.Finally, on the basis of the analysis above, the author made some policy recommendations to increase farmers income and the utilization of the feed: (1) Support small-scale (6-10 head) milk cow breeding mode; enhance the degree of farmers organizations level to accelerate the industrialization of dairy industry; promote the breeding of fine milk cow; improve the dairy industry to promote the development of the social service system according to local conditions (2) improve the utilization rate of the feed; increase the quality of forage grass and fodder crops cultivation; make full use of agricultural products. .
