The economy globalization came with the fiercely competition of investigation between cities and the changes of development environment of city forced the city marketing. As the strategic base of the development of the central area of china, if Wuhan wanted to win in the new round of cities competition, it must enhance its competition of city marketing and reviewed the source and advantage. Then combined with self-advantage, Wuhan should made new position strategy.As the initial theory field, the city marketing has been studied be many scholars. Thought the literature research, it was found that many scholars forced on the studying on the scale of city marketing, city competition, city image as well as the city positioning. Based on the theory of city marketing strategy of Philip Kotler and Liu Yanping and summarizing the relative literature researches, this paper researched the position strategy of the city of Wuhan.Based on the theory of city marketing, this paper took the city industries as the variables with the aims of enhancing the city image and city competition as well as the promoting the development of Wuhan. Combined with the practice of Wuhan city marketing and SWOT analyzing and comparing analyzing with main rivals, this paper proposed the Wuhan city position and considered that Wuhan was suitable to be the model manufacture center based on the steel industry, auto manufacture industry and electronic information industry. Then, it discussed the how to promote and implement the city position of Wuhan effectively and proposed the relative promotion strategy of city positioning of Wuhan, which could provided some suggestions for the certain scholars of city marketing.
