Research On The Development Of Financial Holding Conglomerates In China

With the development of financial globalization and the emergence of financial innovation, the transition from the separate management to comprehensive management has become a global trend in financial industry. The heterogeneous financial conglomerates came into being around the 1990s when there were different models in the organizational structure for heterogeneous financial conglomerates. Recently, it is a trend that financial conglomerates have been turning into the model of financial holding conglomerates in all over the world. At present, there have been some financial holding conglomerates which have been developing in our country and some problems we need to paying attention to. In the paper, fundamental theory of heterogeneous financial conglomerates was introduced firstly and the problems that existed in the developing process of heterogeneous financial conglomerates in our country were analyzed and resolved.First of all, it summed up the current situation of the research on the theory and the practice about the financial holding conglomerates; secondly, it introduced fundamental theory about financial holding conglomerates including the difference in the concept of financial holding company at home and abroad, and some terms of the financial holding conglomerates including conception,characteristics,sort,advantages, risks and operation mechanism. Thirdly, it was seeing about external environment and internal conditions of financial holding conglomerates in the developed country. The external environment was mainly on the legal environment, regulatory environment, and financial market environment; The internal conditions was mainly on the asset size of itself, capacity of risk control and its ability to integrate resources. Fourthly, it introduced the background, status and characteristic of the financial holding conglomerates in our country, choosing some cases every of which was a typical representative of every sort of financial holding conglomerates. Fifthly, it make a analysis of the problems existing in the development of financial holding conglomerates, and the discussions focused on the external environment and the internal conditions of itself. Finally, some suggestion was put forward.
