In the era of supply chain management, supplier involvement in new product development (SINPD) has become a new way of new product development, which emphasizes the vertical cooperation between manufactors and suppliers. To study SINPD based on Chinese enterprises, the driving factors and enabling factors are should be analysed firstly, which make a clear understanding of the origin and recognition of influencing factors in effective implementation. At the same time, in the process of SINPD implementation, what conditions and actions need to ensure SINPD implemented successfully, which is the context of security factors. Thus, it is essential to make a systems analysis on driving factor, enabling factors and security factor for supplier involvement in NPD.A large amount of research on supplier involvement in domestic and international were summarized in this thesis, which provided a basis for this study. In the process of factors extraction, it made meta-analysis of driving factor, enabling factors and security factors and extracted key factors firstly. Then, it vertified and amended the factors via exploratory interviews and a preliminary model was proposed. Based on this, the influencing factors were explored and verified by SPSS11.5 and AMOS7.0 via a scientific and rational questionare survey, and discussed in order to expatiate the meaning. The result of this research has demonstrated that the external competitive pressures, the guidance of national innovation policy, product complexity and technical integration, R&D dependence, supplier dependence and in order to receive achievement were key factors among the driving factors, which included external, internal, supplier and result aspects. There are 12 enabling factors belonged to organization management, quality of human resources, relationship and mutual attraction were key factors among the enabling factors for supplier involvement in NPD. Top management commitment, assets invested by two sides, mutual trust, information sharing, effective communication, conflict management, coordination, monitoring and the distribution of benefits are the key factors among security factors. The study also showed that different types of business may have dfferent influence on SINPD of implementation, the role and the extent of key factors. Thus, when implement SINPD, enterprises should draw up its own actual SINPD strategy according to their own practical situation.
