Research On The Influence Of Involvement In New Product Development On Supplier's Performance

Supplier involvement in new product development (SINPD) can benefit the whole supply chain as a new mode of collaboration. With the suppliers' desire of collaboration enhanced and focuce on the maintenance of collaboration, the practice of SINPD has been more and more in our country. However, SINPD also faces the problem that its impact on the performance of both the manufacture and supplier.There is the practice significance that the research on the impact on the performance of SINPD on the suppliers' standpoint in the different power dependment structure and the different relationship evolution phases.A large amount of research results in domestic and international were summarized in this thesis which were prepared to carry on the research on theory study and empirical study. SINPD has been realized by case study. Referring to some viewpoints in domestic and international, supplier's ability, collaboration relationship and supplier's involvement strategy are put into a whole frame and analyse their impact on supplier's performance which consist of finance performance, operation performance and innovation performance. A theoretic model which described the impacts of SINPD and supplier's performance was put forward based on reviewing the existing theories and literatures in this thesis. As for the empirical research part, this text regards supplier of our country as the research object. Through a mail survey, 363 effective samples of SINPD projects are collected and analyzed by AMOS and SPSS statistic software. The reason that the focuce degree of SINPD and performance on the supplier's standpoint are different is expounded and the impact of SINPD on the supplier's performance has been analyzed in the different power dependment structure and the different relationship evolution phases.The result of this research has demonstrated that there is no impact of collaboration on the supplier's innovation performance in the different power dependment structure; in other aspects, there is different impact on supplier's performance remarkably. Otherwise, there is also different impact of supplier's ability and supplier's involvement strategy on supplier's performance remarkably in the different power dependment structure and the different relationship evolution phases. In the conclusion, the research conclusion of this text is drawn; the theory contribution is analyzed systematically and the enlightenment of SINPD practice in our country. Finally, the shortcoming and the prospect for research in the future are analyzed.
