With the implementation of the government ecological homestead plan and the carrying out of returning land for farming to forestry and grass policy, the traditional way of stockbreeding produce already cannot be accustomed to neither the demand of grain and rural household energy in northwestern region nor the development of modern stockbreeding industrialization. How to promote the sustainable development of stockbreeding in northwest, has already become the one of the most important projects should be solved urgently in ecological and economic reconstruction. This thesis used the relative theory and method in regional economics, developmental economics, industrial economics, ecological economics and environmental economics and so on, combining to the general situation of stockbreeding resource in northwest in order to explore the way of the sustainable development of stockbreeding in northwest.This thesis focuses on how to improve the "minimum circulation" mode of stockbreeding in northwestern region, the "medium circulation" mode between stockbreeding and other agricultural industries and the "giant circulation" mode between stockbreeding and the second and the third industries in order to enhance the upgrading of stockbreeding structure and so to accelerate the upgrading and optimization of agricultural industry in northwestern region comprehensively. At the same time, the construction of sustainable utilization mode of stockbreeding resource provide the ecological construction compensation mechanism, environment construction, cycle technology and other assurance systems for the development of cycle economics in stockbreeding here. At last, the strategic consideration and suggestive measures are also put forward.
