Modern logistics, which surviving and developing has been directly affected by logistics human capital, has been the key of economy and foundation industry in developed countries. It has the important theory and practice meaning to research on the theory and practice of human capital investment in logistics. The innovation of this thesis has academic value and is beneficial to the logistics subject.Education and training are two approaches to invest in human capital. In human capital theory education is an investment of current resources (the opportunity cost of the time involved as well as any direct costs) in exchange for future returns. Optimal investment decision-making would imply that one would invest in education if the rate of return is bigger than the market rate of interest. And public sectors would invest in education if the rate of return to education is bigger than the rate of return to other long programs. Training is the second approach to invest in human capital because human capital is easy to devaluate. According to Human Capital, training system can improve all level of human capital. And education and training can increase labor productivity and income together. Human capital theory can guide practice of education and training, and teaching staff should devote their attention to the rate of returns to human capital. This thesis applies the human capital theory to study human capital investment in logistics.Employing some theoretical weapons such as economics, management, education, etc., with the textual analysis of the latest materials from both in and aboard, this thesis hackles the theory of human capital investment in logistics, and compares China with other countries. The result shows that we should learn from the experience of developing human capital in developed countries.Human capital investment in logistics is a systems engineering, including government, universities, higher vocation colleges, enterprises and social training institutions. By surveying the logistic enterprises and combining the methods of positive research and normative research, this thesis investigate to choose the approaches to invest in human capital to obtain the maximal rate of returns to human capital.This thesis argues that logistics, as applying science, industry and theory subject, should empirical study on the mechanism of industry-university-research Institute linkage. Logistics education and training should increase the productivity of education and training and the rate of returns to human capital of teachers and students.
