Currently in our country, the disadvantages of designing theoretics exist in most General Layout & Transportation Designs for Industry enterprises, which lead to a factitious disturbance and bring about unnecessary economic loss during designing process. Not only in terms of the main contents of the General layout & transportation(site selection, general layout design, vertical design, industrial transportation design) but also based on the viewpoint of optimal design, the article puts forward a series of optimizations of General Layout & Transportation Design. What's more, the effect of all the optimizations can be validated through corresponding case study.1. According to industrial location theory, comprehensive evaluation methods and weight obtained methods under fractal dimension, the optimizations of different stage of site selection are discussed in this paper.2. After explaining the optimizations of general layout scheme based on SLP, especially its general zoning, the significance of workshop units relationship analysis and comprehensive relationship chart are indicated. Moreover, the article sets up an optimal design method of general layout scheme based on fractal theory and the comprehensive relationship chart. In this method, both the practical general layout scheme and the perfect one are quantitatively well expressed through spatial correlation dimension. What's more, a new concept---Approximation degree---is defined in the paper, which can greatly contribute to select the optimized general layout scheme. Furthermore, some other optimazations of general layout design are also studied in the paper.3. Because there are some constraints in the leveling elevation calculation method of construction site based on least-square procedure, an improved calculation method with more practicabilities and its technical process are raised. Meanwhile, the elementary theory of digital terrain model is deeply analysed in order to achieve the optimizations of earthwork volume calculation on computer. By the way, an optimized generation method of digital terrain model, which uses fractal theory and digital filteringin to realize interpolation, is expounded in the paper.4. The article takes pipeline layout design as an example so that the optimizations of industrial transportation design can be typically studied. Firstly, the optimized objectives of the design are chosen. Secondly, the technical route to reach the optimized objectives is put forward in this paper. Finally, with a case study of a gas pipeline system of an enterprise, the feasibility of the technical route can be validated.
