With the city as the symbol of the progress of human civilization, urbanization has become the irreversible trend of the world history development, which is manifested as centralization of people towards city, increase of the number of the cities, enlargement of city scale, and the enhancement of the urban modernization. Urbanization embodies the fundamental transformation of the economic structure of the society and the acquisition of the tremendous expanding space. Recently, China is just on the stage of urbanization with high speed. When we share in the strong drive and enormous wealth brought by urbanization, we have to cope with the series of social economic issues induced by it, such as population boom, housing shortage, and land costliness. Meanwhile, the Real Estate industry of the nation is in the phrase of flourishing growth, which has been playing a positive and effective role in the aspects of raising job opportunities, optimizing industrial structure, ameliorating residential conditions, upgrading urban taste and etc. Despite the late start and the inadequate experience, the Real Estate industry itself also bears several obvious problems, for instance: overexploitation on outskirts, severity waste of land, imperfectness on Housing Supply and Security System, structural contradiction of its products and so on. As far as the present situation of China is concerned, it is of realistic significance to carry out the deep research into the interrelation between urbanization and Real Estate industry within the city area and then set them in the state of benign interaction, diminishing or avoiding their growing problems.The thesis is based on the background of rapid urbanization nowadays in China. On the premise of the present research situation at home and abroad, it has taken the basic categories and correlated concepts of urbanization and Real Estate industry as the starting point, according to the practical conditions of China, then made a comparatively thorough discussion on the mutual development of urbanization and Real Estate industry. Afterwards, on the foundation of the above theoretical conclusion, the thesis has taken Wuhan, a crucial city in central China, as an example by applying empirical method to conduct the econometric analysis on the correlation between urbanization and Real Estate industry by using GDP as the substitutional index. It is hoped that the suggested measurements of the thesis can benefit the promotion of urban economic and Real Estate industry under the high-speed urbanization. Thus the thesis has demonstrated the inseparably interactive development relationship between urbanization and Real Estate industry again from the empirical perspective.
