Study On Urban Position In Changzhutan "3+5" Urban Agglomeration And Development Measures Of Xiangtan City

Globalization and regional economic integration has become the mainstream of world economy development, the competition city to city and region to region has gradually become the competitive protagonist. The cities' status in the national economy is growing, so that promote the prosperity of the urban studies. Urban position is an important topic in the city research, is the most significant thing to urban planning and development of strategic planning study. It has paramount importance and plays a vital role in urban development. The theoretical sector and the Government departments attach great importance to it, but relevant research is immature still now.Red Tourism City—Xiangtan City, as an important component of Changzhutan "3 +5" urban group's core, its location, transport, technology, higher education, intellectual resources, are more prominent. Industrial base is fairly good. In the past few year, it developed not less than satisfaction, especially the major economic indexes significantly fall behind Zhuzhou City from 2004. A scientific and rational position becomes an urgent need to urban development , so as to enhancing its competitiveness. The study seeks to provide a theoretical foundation and practice guidance for the nurturing of urban competence.On the basis of the analyzing the macro background of Xiangtan urban position, the thesis start in recalling, analyzing and summarizing the theory of urban position ,as well as introducing the other related theories: Urban location theory, comparative advantage theory, urban competitiveness theory, symbiotic theory and so on. These research ways were applied in the article: combining use of theoretical research and empirical analysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis of the combination. Use SWOT analysis to the situation of Xiangtan City, and related socio-economic development of the forecast. Constructed Urban Competitiveness evaluation index system that contains 10 indicator modules, include in 39 indicators. Using statistical analysis software (SPSS), analyze Xiangtan City's competitiveness in Changzhutan "3 +5" Urban Agglomeration.Utilize the outcome of the status quo analysis, urban competitiveness assessment and development prediction, identified for development from the industry, space and scale, functions, features and image of the four areas. At the end of the article raised some strategies and measures against the existent problems and the development requirments.
