Integration Research On The ERP System Of Project Manufacturing Enterprises

With the diversification of customer's needs, the project manufacturing becomes more and more popular in manufacturing industry. However, there does exist some factors that hinder project manufacturing enterprises from being a success, such as the ever-changing customers'needs, complexity of customized products, strict delivery time limit and cost control and etc, which bring out further requirements of ERP employed within.From the perspective of system integration and project management, this thesis researches on following points: the specific functions of ERP employed in project manufacturing enterprises; speeding up the processes of product development, quotation and cost control; and system structure and implementation methods of agile supply chain management. The main focus of this thesis would be placed in the research of the function characteristics of ERP system employed in project manufacturing enterprises, internal and external.After carefully referring to related papers both at home and abroad, this thesis tries to: figure out the concepts of ERP of project manufacturing enterprises by means of concept analysis methods; get the real thing of different types of ERP systems employed in those enterprises through methods of comparative analysis; and integrate ERP systems internally and externally. Accordingly, the thesis goes in the following way:1. Classify manufacturing enterprises into different types such as production process-based, large-scale customized, order-oriented, resources based and etc.2. Figure out characteristics that are peculiar to the ERP system within project manufacturing enterprises through the analysis of the definition and characteristics of project as well as its life cycle, comparison of project manufacturing and traditional manufacturing. 3. Extend functions of ERP system employed in project manufacturing enterprises both internally and externally. Such extension are based on the reference to operation setbacks proposed in the second part, such as fast product development, rapid quotation support, control of materials and cost and etc against the backdrop of the status quo of ERP applications in China.4. Analyze the integration of ERP system within project manufacturing enterprises. This part starts from the understanding of the ERP system's function structure and respective functions. Then Endeavors are made to internal integration of project management sub-systems, distribution sub-systems, manufacturing sub-systems and financial sub-systems. External integration goes to PDS system and agile supply chain systems.
