| Tourism associations got off to a late start in China, and there were many questions during its development period. Tourism associations are far away from meeting the demands of Chinese tourism industry. The author has mainly analyzed the factors which restrict Chinese tourism associations'development, and put forward some measures to improve the factors. Qua media-organizations between the government and enterprises, tourism associations have been bringing into play much more important actions on the practice of tourism management, along with the evolvement of China's tourism management from government-leading-model to market-leading-model. Despite various problems in existence on the operation of tourism associations, they are tending to substitute parts of government's functions and powers of tourism management. On one hand, to ensure that tourism associations can play an important role in the accomplishment of the top-aim of tourism management, managers of governments must prepare themselves mentally to endue tourism associations with more functions and powers and adjust relationships among government-association- enterprises. On the other hand, tourism associations have to accommodate themselves to the requests of market economy system. They should set out to update management methods to obtain more favorable circumstances. |
