Analysis On Supply-demand Equilibrium Of Agricultural Science And Technology Service In China

Agricultural science and technology service,as an important part of rural public goods, is of much significance to improve agricultural productive efficiency, resist agricultural production risk and increase farmers' income.Some realistic problems such as the divergence of the level of income between urban and rural area and the rural economic development are all closely associated with the supply-demand of agricultural science and technology service.But now, the supply and demand of agricultural science and technology service are imbalance in our country. On one hand, insufficient government input and im-proper agricultural science and technology service system resulted in insufficient and ineffective supply;on the other hand, farmers have great desire to get more diversified and high quality agricultural science and technology service. Thus, it is unable to realize the supply-demand equilibrium.In summary, that is significant to take a study on the supply and demand of agricultural science and technology service.This study directs against this subject, on the basis of analyzing and commenting forefathers' research results, and then launch a new research that based on supply-demand of public goods .Through the data of investigation and constructing models, the study makes an empirical analysis on the development status and actual problems of supply-demand of agricultural science and technology service in China. Beyond that, the author puts forward some corresponding suggestions on how to improve the supply-demand disequilibrium of agricultural science and technology service.The thesis is composed of four parts. The preface introduces the whole study. It describes the background, defines the concepts, presents the framework and main points, and reviews the related literature.The second part analyzes theoretically the supply-demand equilibrium of agricultural science and technology service,then shows the public goods characteristics of agricultural science and technology service. As the agricultural science and technology service is one kind of rural quasi public goods, we classify it according to its public goods characteristics. Meanwhile, this part analyzes the motivation,characteristics and influencing factors of agricultural science and technology service,and shows the conditions of supply-demand equilibrium and the form of supply-demand disequilibrium. The third part makes a empirical analysis on the development status and actual problems of supply-demand of agricultural science and technology service in China.We take a case study of Shandong Province to show the actual situation of supply and demand of our research object through the data of investigation and constructing models. The study shows that the main causes of supply-demand disequilibrium are lack of effective demand expression mechanism, insufficient government input and the im-proper agricultural science and technology service system. We can get the conclusion that agricultural science and technology service has characteristics of multi-demand,low supply satisfaction, supply-demand disequilibrium and lack of a multi-supply model in China.Finally, the last part puts forward some corresponding suggestions. The author try to construct a "Government-oriented Multi-supply Model" to improve the supply-demand disequilibrium and perfect the agricultural science and technology service supply through government,market and farmers.
