Balanced Scorecard Deployment In Supplier Quality Management

This paper is focused on supplier's quality performance evaluation system, and it is based on the theory of balanced scorecard and existed research around world. The paper explains the necessity and principle of balanced scorecard. With respect of the real world condition, it suggests the supplier's balanced scorecard should include: product quality evaluation, sanitation and safety evaluation basing on GMP rule, supplier quality system evaluation basing on ISO9000.As member enterprises in supply chain are owned differently, while they are pursuing common quality goal, some conflicts of local interest still exist. Manufacturer as core role must set up effective quality performance evaluation system, and then they can coordinate the relationship with suppliers, and improve the efficiency of quality management. Therefore the design of supplier's quality performance evaluation system is the key issue.This paper is different from other articles about supplier quality management, it introduces the concept of balanced scorecard, and then it puts forward the necessity of including product quality, sanitation, quality system in supplier quality management, which is based on the principle that the balanced scorecard should follow the company's strategic objective that requires to fully evaluate supplier and finally to improve the competitive ability of the supplier chain.
