Transnational Auto Manufacturers Patent Portfolio Research Based On Patent Map

In recent years,with the development of China's economy and improvement of people's living condition,there are huge growth potentialities in china's auto market。Transnational auto corporations take China's auto market as an important component of their global strategy,so they adjust their strategy to China and join in China's auto industry and market. In order to seize and consolidate the China market,transnational corporations focus on patents,putting in a lot of manpower and financial resources to seize latest technology and building technical barriers,which make the domestic automobile enterprises facing an extremely severe challenge。Therefore, it is an essential project for China's automobile industry to analyze transnational auto corporations'patent portfolio in China and take positive and effective measures based on the analysis. Based on patent disclosure documents before June, 2007, this study applies patent map analysis method to patent portfolio research of manufacturers by taking key transnational auto manufacturers as research objects. It aims to draw a comprehensive and systematic patent map and provide some referential suggestions to China's auto enterprises and related units. The study is mainly made up of the following aspects:①Combined with patent analysis theory,proposing manufacturers portfolio research methods which are based on patent map and designing the research framework of auto manufacturers portfolio.②Illustrating overall market size of auto industry, industrial structural characteristics, etc. and analyzing transnational auto manufacturer's development in china in great detail.③From the perspective of patent management,drawing some graphs according to the statistics of key transnational auto manufacturers'patent amount, research abilities, IPC classification, and technical corporation and providing useful patent information (such as patent portfolio and development orientation ) to the enterprises on the basis of systematic classification and analysis.④From the perspective of technical patents, focusing on the research emphasis, technique roadmap, and developing orientation of key transnational auto manufacturers in terms of quantity and quality research. This thesis aims to explore technical information from patent publications fully and deeply, which can provide reliable basis to China's auto enterprises in making research strategies and help them overcome patent barriers.⑤Providing some suggestions and solutions to China's auto enterprises according to the conclusion drawn from patent analysis.
