Study On Development Of Chongqing Three Gorges' Urbanization

Besides being an important symbol of the level of economic development and the degree of civilization, urbanization is also the necessary condition of accelerating the economic development. Because our country is a big country, the level of economic and social development is unequal in different regions and the level of urbanization is the same. They are faced with different problems in the progress of pushing urbanization. We can not use a same mode to guide every region's urbanization, How to find out a suit mode for a specific region according to its real conditions is an important problem in the urbanization study. As to Three Gorges of Chongqing in Chinese west, the special geographical and historical conditions and backward economy make the level of urbanization in Three Gorges very low, which in turn retards the progress of industrialization and expands the gap of city and country. So studying the problem existing in the urbanization of Three Gorges, offering specific strategy have important realistic significance for the development of Three Gorges' urbanization.In order to evaluate the level of Three Gorges' urbanization objectively and thoroughly, this thesis not only uses the traditional population urbanization indicator to compare the urbanization of Three Gorges with that of other regions, but also puts forward a set of appraisement indicators based on the essence of urbanization and gives a appraisal about the level of urbanization in Three Gorges' nineteen towns. According to the level of urbanization in these nineteen towns, we divide them into four categories and analyze the problems of every category of town in their urbanization development.This thesis synthetically applies many kinds of analytic methods, such as normative analysis, positive analysis, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and comparative analysis etc. On the foundation of summarizing a large number of theories and practice, this thesis draws following conclusion:①The level of urbanization in Three Gorges is low, the speed of development is slow.②The development of urbanization in various area in Three Gorges is unequal. The city hierarchical structure breaks, which affects the diffusion action of corn city. In addition, the limited number and lower level of urbanization hamper the exertion of medium cities' aggregation and diffusion action.③The main reasons that cause the backwardness of Three Gorges'urbanization level are the undeveloped industrialization, low capability of peasants, backward infrastructures and various system barriers.④To develop the Three Gorges'urbanization, Three Gorges should choose the road which suits itself.
