A Research On The Present Condition And Strategy Of Urbanization Development Of Guizhou

Besides being an important symbol of the level of economic development and the degree of civilization, urbanization is also the necessary condition of accelerating the economic development. Because our country is a big country, the level of economic and social development is unequal in different regions and the level of urbanization is the same. They are faced with different problems in the progress of pushing urbanization. We can not use a same mode to guide every region's urbanization, How to find out a suit mode for a specific region according to its real conditions is an important problem in the urbanization study. As to Guizhou, a poor province in Chinese west, the special geographical and historical conditions and backward economy make the level of urbanization in Guizhou very low, which in turn retards the progress of industrialization and expands the gap of city and country. So studying the problem existing in the urbanization of Guizhou province, offering specific strategy have important realistic significance for the development of Guizhou's urbanization..In order to evaluate the level of Guizhou's urbanization objectively and thoroughly, this thesis not only uses the traditional population urbanization indicator to compare the urbanization of Guizhou with that of other regions, but also puts forward a set of appraisement indicators based on the essence of urbanization and gives a appraisal about the level of urbanization in Guizhou's thirteen towns. According to the level of urbanization in these thirteen towns, we divide them into five categories and analyze the problems of every category of town in their urbanization development. Based on the analysis of the reasons that cause these problems, this thesis offers seven policies and measures to advance the development of urbanization, in Guizhou.This thesis synthetically applies many kinds of analytic methods, such as normative analysis, positive analysis, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and comparative analysis etc.. On the foundation of summarizing a large number of theories and practice, this thesis draws following conclusion:1. The level of urbanization in Guizhou is low, the speed of development is slow. There is wider gap between Guizhou and other provinces and cities in the development of urbanization.2. The development of urbanization in various area in Guizhou is unequal. The urban primacy is too high. Because there is not big city, the city hierarchical structure breaks, which affects the diffusion action of corn city. In addition, the limited number and lower level of urbanization hamper the exertion of medium cities' aggregation and diffusion action.3. The main reasons that cause the backwardness of Guizhou's urbanization level are the undeveloped industrialization, low capability of peasants, backward infrastructures and various system barriers.4. To improve the level of Guizhou's urbanization, we should pay emphasis on the development of big and medium cities and depend on core cities or sub core cities to pull the development of other cities; found the urbanization on the development of advantageous industries; and constantly improve the cities'infrastructure. At the same time, we should take effective measures to raise peasants'capability and reform systems to improve urbamzation. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the construction of city ecology to realize the lasting development of urbanization.
