Evaluation Of Airports Operation Efficiency

Recently, civil aviation has developed at very fast speed in china, thus, throughput has rapid raise in most airports. Conflict between operation quantity and airport's capacity becomes more and more stand out with high rising of throughput. This conflict has affected our airport efficiency and development.Based on this background, we use the combination of data envelopment analysis, finance analysis and clustering analysis making airports operation efficience estimation by choosing front thirty Chinese airports in 2005. The paper not only chooses area of airport terminal and throughput as input and output indices and estimate airports'operation efficiency, but also analyses management with financial benefits, assets operation and debt-paying ability of enterprises based on financial statements. Finally sample airports are divided in several clusters by using clustering analysis .We find each cluster's commonness and do some representative cases .Futher more we can get the conclusion that there is a correlation between operation efficiency and throughput. Passenger transportation's is better than cargo transportation.Demestic transportation is better than international transportation. Mean while airports'infrastructure investment has some problems.Both over and short construction are commonly exist. Finally, basing on this conclusion this pape gives suggestion for improving airport efficiency.
