| The gravity model is applied to tourism based on summarizing lots of study about the gravity model. In this paper, the main method is quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis is a supplement. The method of qualitative analysis is used to analyze influencing factors of sichuan province's international tourism demand and the character of Sichuan's tourism industry. And then the basic gravity model of Sichuan's international tourism is built via introducing new explanatory variables. The specific form of the model can be determined through the form of panel model test and housman chi-square test. Furthermore, the parameters of the model can be estimated. The method of parameter estimation is the backward method of stepwise regression which estimates parameter through rejecting explanatory variables whose test results are not significance step by step until the remaining variables can be passed. After research above, influencing factors of sichuan province's international tourism demand are identified and the main factors and their degree of importance are also reached according to the gravity model. And then the theory of the panel cointegration test is used to prove whether the gravity model is effective and rational. At the end, pertinent suggestion for promoting the development of sichuan province's international tourism is advanced based on empirical analysis.One of main innovations of this paper is to build the basic gravity model of Sichuan's international tourism, and use the model to analyze influencing factors of sichuan province's international tourism demand. The other one is to test the gravity model by the theory of the panel cointegration test, which prove that the gravity model of Sichuan's international tourism is not a 'spurious regression' and is effective and rational.Empirical research of this paper on influencing factors of sichuan province's international tourism demand is of momentous significance for enacting sichuan's tourism and economic policies. |
