Research On The Application Of Work Sampling In Garment Manufacturing Industry

Garment manufacturing industry is the traditional labor-intensive industry. This industry has the high income and innovates and develops rapidly. Now, it has become to the most important part of the Chinese national economy. The A company is a well-known garment manufacturing enterprise in designing, producing and selling the slap-up and independent brands of suit-dress. Now it is facing the dual pressures from the well-known enterprises from home and abroad. If the company desires to be stronger in the drastic competitive environment, in addition to building the strong brands and enhancing the corporate image, it must continue to strengthen the enterprise's internal production management. The production efficiency of the production department will directly affects the product quality, cost, the date of delivery and other crucial competitive factors for the garment manufacturing industry, so increasing the productivity has become to the top priority for the production managers.The work sampling method which is the key method in evaluating the production efficiency has broad application in the enterprise over the years. In this paper, the method is used to evaluate the workers'and the facilities'efficiency of the production department in the A company. Then, the author establishes an indicator of the total production efficiency measuring as the basis of the enterprise improving production efficiency.So, in the first part, the author introduces the present research situation at home and abroad of the work sampling method, the research content and research purport of the paper and the production situation of the A company. Then the author introduces the concept, the theory, the steps and the advantage and the disadvantage of the work sampling method detailed in the second part. In the third part, the overall situation of the A company is described in detail. Then the application of the work sampling in the A company is analyzed in the fourth part. In this part, the paper calculates the workers'and the facilities'efficiency according to the survey information. Finally, the author establishes an index to evaluate the total production efficiency of the production department, and it also is the important basis for enhancing the production efficiency. The author studies the application of the work sampling method in the garment manufacturing and establishes a total production efficiency index according to the calculated production efficiency of the workers'and facilities'to evaluate and enhance the production efficiency. This thesis is the creative research for the work sampling method and has the significant meaning for the extent application.
