At present the international shipping industry was still maintaining booming highly, and shipping demands of the product and raw material was brisk. The dry bulk transportation developed qucikly and smoothly, and container market rallied, and shipping industry was in good graces of capital market,from which we might see clearly that international shipping remained high. After the entry of our country into WTO, according to the pledge which our country made to WTO, our shipping market had opened gradually, now our country had become one of the most vigor and potential markets of the whole world shipping market, while a huge domestic shipping market had come to being. Under this situation, it is very important to know the present situation and existing problems together with their causes of Guang Dong water transportation,determine it's orientation in the domestic water transportation market and at this basis provide developmental strategy for it.This paper firstly introduced the research background and main content, and then analysed and summerized the current situation and developmental tendency of shipping market, both home and abroad, which provided reference for the following study.Then the paper investigated and analyzed the current situation and existing problems together with their causes of water transportation of Guang Dong.On this basis, combining with the characters of shipping industry, the paper set up an evaluation index system. And then 25 provinces picked out from our country were evaluated comprehensively with grey clustering analysis method. Based the above evaluation, it simply analysed the final result Finally, the paper proposed detailed suggestion and strategies to develop water transportation industry of Guang Dong.
