For the past ten years, Chinese industry, especially the manufacturing industry, has gotten through a dramaticly fast development. Confonted with the severely lack of skilled workers, many manufacturing corporations get into a common issue that how to stimulate those skilled workers and reduce absenteeism and emoplyee's turnover.This paper focus on the relationship between organizational socialization tactics and organizational commitment of the skilled workers by survey and data analysis on the basis of literature reviews, in hope of providing some practical guidance for managers in manufacturing corporations.This paper mainly consists of three sections: (1) research on the relationship between organizational socialization tactics and organizational commitment of the formal skilled workers; (2) research on the relationship between organizational socialization tactics and organizational commitment of the temporary skilled workers; (3) comparison research on the relationship between organizational socialization tactics and organizational commitment of the formal and temporary skilled workers.Through survey of 203 skilled workers in ten multinational manufacturing corporations in Xiamen and data analysis by SPSS, this paper gets to the conclusion as follows:1. Formal skilled workers' affective commitment is positively related to investiture dimension and fixed dimension.2. Formal skilled workers' normative commitment is positively related to fixed dimension but negatively related to sequential dimension.3. Formal skilled workers' continuance commitment is positively related to serial dimension and fixed dimension but negatively related to sequential dimension. When characteristic variables are included in the regression model, the serial dimension is no longer siganificant. Instead, the total working lenth is negatively related to formal skilled workers' continuance commitment.4. Temporary skilled workers' affective commitment is positively related to collective dimension,serial dimension and fixed dimension.5. Temporary skilled workers' normative commitment is only positively related to fixed dimension.6. Temporary skilled workers' continuance commitment is positively related to fixed dimension but negatively related to sequential dimension. When characteristic variables are included in the regression model, the sequential dimension is no longer siganificant. Instead, the total working lenth is negatively related to temporary skilled workers' continuance commitment.7. Temporary skilled workers' organizational socialization tactics are more institutional than formal skilled workers in the collective,formal,serial and fixed dimension.8. Temporary skilled workers' affective commitment,normative commitment and continuance commitment are all higher than formal skilled workers.
