An Exploration Of Stimulating Economic Growth Of Southern Shaanxi By The Regeneration Of 'Ancient Tea-Horse Road' In Shaanxi And Gansu

Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, the development of the'Tea-Horse Economy' and the 'Tea-Horse Road' trade culture have been formed in the south of Shaanxi by the centralgovernment's 'Tea-Horse Trading' policy. Ziyang tea producing area, which located in Ziyang, Pingli, Ankang,Hanying, Shiquan, Xixiang, Hanzhong and Zhenba, has been one of famous tea-producing areas in China since that time. To comply with the 'Tea-Horse Trading' policy from the central government at the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the teaproducing and trading economy was formed in Shaanxi. It was a great economic historical and cultural heritage. While developing the socialist market economy and the global trend of return to nature and history, regeneration of 'Tea-Horse Road theme culture' and building the whole cultural impression of 'Tea-Horse Road theme culture' would stimulate the green economy growth in Shaanxi. It was also an engine and a point of breakthrough to develop Shaanxi economy. The regeneration would refresh the high speed economy growth and achieve comprehensive, coordinated and scientific development.This thesis reviewed the literature about 'Ancient Tea-Horse Road' historical and cultural heritage, and conducted site survey, then it discussed a development policy which was stimulating economic growth of southern Shaanxi by regeneration of 'Ancient Tea-Horse Road' in Shaanxi and Gansu. The policy sought a way to develop natural recourses in southern Shaanxi and to transfer the natural recourses benefit to economic benefit. Moreover, the policy would develop the economy of Shaanxi province and protect its natural environment. It is a new model of human and nature harmonious development. Finally, the thesis provided historical and theoretical basis for provincial and municipal government drafting economic and social plan of southern Shaanxi.
