In recent years, with the openness of the domestic market, Chinese manufacturing enterprises will face even more severely competitive environment. Many manufacturing enterprises in china have awared the importance of logistics optimization. They introduce into advanced logistics management methods to reduce productions costs, to improve the market competitiveness and to revitalize manufacturing industry of china.Materials are one of the key factors of production. Materials supply cost takes very large proportion of the total cost of logistics in the manufacturing enterprises. With the increasingly fierce market competition, the demands of customers are more and more personalized and diversified. Now the production model has changed from a single model production base on inventory into mixed-model production based on order. In allusion the problems of high complexity, high inventory cost, poor coordination of materials supply for mixed-model production, This paper researches on materials sequence supply for the mixed-model production to establish an efficient and low-cost materials supply management system which fit for the characteristics of Chinese manufacturing industry. The major content and innovations are:1. This paper integrated the basic ideas of logistics engineering, systems engineering, operation research, put forward the new ideas of materials sequence supply for the mixed-model production based on analysis and comparison of the existing materials supply models in manufacturing industry.2. With the objective of materials consumption equalization of the mixed-model production lines, this paper established the mathematical model of production sequencing of mixed-model production lines and then solved the model with tabu search algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm.It solved the problem of materials demand unbalance of the mixed-model production lines efficiently and effectively, and made a good foundation for the implement of materials sequence supply for the mixed-model production.3. Integrating the basic ideas of MRP and JIT, this paper designed the models of materials sequence supply for the mixed-model production and analyzed theirs principles, processes, characteristics, and adaptabilities so that the entire materials supply system can operate in the formation of co-operation, synchronization, coordination and complementarity. The materials supply can cooperate greatly with the real product flows on the mixed-model production lines, eliminate the redundant factors in material supply systems (including inventory, processes, operations), so that logistics can service for production smoothly and efficiently.4. This paper studied the collaboration of materials sequence supply for the mixed-model production, Using queuing theory, established forklifts allocation model in logistics entrance areas and then simulated, balanced the utilization of logistics resources. So that the receiving area can meet the requirements of materials sequence supply, connect materials supply with production effectively.5. Finally, this paper chose an auto manufacturing enterprise to carry out case studies. At first analyzed the basic problems of materials supply, then studied the application of materials sequence supply for the mixed-model in this enterprise, at last analyzed the results. It fully proved that materials sequence supply for the mixed-model production in this paper is rational, feasible and efficient.This paper is practical application-oriented, combined the technological innovation and management innovation, researched on materials sequence supply for the mixed-model production based on manufacturing industry, explored a high efficient and low-cost materials supply model. The research method is rational and practical.
