Promoting coordinated development of the regional economy is a basic goal in our economic development of the new era, which also is a very important problem urgently to be solved in Jilin Province. International experience of promoting coordinated development of regional economy reveals that a sound transportation system is the guarantee of realizing the goal of boosting coordinated development of the regional economy. With the social and economic development, road is playing an increasingly important role in the whole transportation system. Currently the road system of the developed countries has become the core of their transportation system for its freight and passengers have far outnumbered that of railway system. In China, since the reform and opening-up, road transportation has undergone a rapid development, which has casted increasingly important influence on the regional development. To some extent, a sound road network is not only one of the important symbols indicating the realization of regional coordinated development, but also a significant means to boost its development. In light of the special impact of transportation network on boosting the coordinated regional economic development, as well as the special role of road network playing in the whole transportation network, this paper is set out to conduct the researches of Jilin road network construction in terms of regional coordinated development.Regional coordinated development includes effectively controlling regional economic gap, equalization of public service between regions, forming effective coordinated interactive mechanism in different regions, developing a new and orderly pattern, regional development in compliant with the local environment capacity etc. After years'construction and development, regional patterns of Jilin province has been gradually showing its momentum of pushing regional development with Changchun and Jilin cities as the center. However, there are still many contradictions and problems impeding the regional coordinated development, such as big economic gap in different regions, no effective interactive mechanisms between regions, small scale of regional center city, thorny problems of natural environment as well as social economic sustainable development etc. To solve the problems mentioned above, Jilin regional coordinated development can be boosted in the following 6 aspects: firstly, orient the main function in accordance with each region's characteristic; secondly deepen regional cooperation and push the regional economic integration; thirdly improve the development of the whole province by boosting that of Changchun and Jilin cities; fourthly, fasten the regional center city development; fifthly rapidly equalize the public service between different regions; sixth, strengthen the regional economic cooperation between Jilin and some adjacent provinces like Liaoning and Heilongjiang.Recently, Jilin province has witnessed a rapid development of its road network construction, and it has almost established a road network system featuring in taking express and other high-ranked road as the main, and road of township and village as the support. However, be it compared with other relatively developed provinces, or with the requirements of boosting regional coordinated development, some blatant problems of the road network construction of Jilin province has been exposed. In terms of the road density, height, Barometer mileage rate, the ration of cement surface and pitch surface of the village roads, the road network of Jilin province is on the whole below the average; there is no uniformed network system in highway; not all the cities have the highway system, and there are a lot of disconnections between Jilin province and Liaoning, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia; regional imbalance of road construction is very obvious; regional gap is conspicuous in terms of road density and quality.According to the functions and subordinate functions of the regional transport infrastructure in the process of economic development , the future construction of Jilin Province Highway Network must be scientifically oriented from the perspective of promoting regional coordinated development, so that the road network can speed up the development and drive the development in the East and West wings, promote the regional economic integration and regional collaboration between the industrial divisions , provide the economically less developed areas of the basic transport needs, and play a greater role.According to the above requirements, the road network construction of Jilin province has to focus on the following aspects: firstly actively require supports of some concerning construction projects given by the central finance committee, and make a priority of the investment projects, thus more support and help will be given by our country to the less developed provinces including Jilin province. Secondly promote the reform of road construction finance and widen the resource channels, strengthen the support of the less developed countries, and steadily put forth investment polarization, attract more investment of road facilities constructions from home and abroad, Thirdly establish the mindset of properly advance the pace of highway construction, fasten the highway network construction of Jilin province, take the advantage of current situation where investment is expanded, and domestic needs are stimulated, speed up the highway construction as well as the highway network construction. Fourthly, improve the mutual coordination and communication of Jilin province with the neighboring Liaoning province, Heilongjiang province and Inner Mongolia, eliminate the bad connection between provinces as soon as possible. Fifthly steadily promote the reform of road charge system and minimize the numbers of charging stations, lower the cost of road utilization, provide a better service for the bus freight.
