Import Trade And Development Of Industry

In the past, China attached more importance to export than import because of the influence of other newly-emerging industry countries in Asia, and the surplus of foreign trade becomes the yardstick of development. In fact, as the increased cut of tariff and non-tariff barriers after China's Accession to the WTO, the volume of import grew faster than export. In this case, we couldn't ignore the importance of import in the development of economic and industry. We focus on the relation between import and the industry development. Import influences the development of industry in next six fields: export, investment, employment, technological progress, market structure and the capacity of product. We try to analyze the influence in theory and prove its direction and degree to all these fields. We use time series and classical correlation methods to make empirical analysis between these two objects. The results of empirical analysis indicate that the import of mechanical and electronic products has drawn the development of this industry in different event in fields of export,investment,market structure,technological and the capacity of product except employment. Finally, we thoroughly probe into the relation between import and industry development, and give some suggestion on how to enhance the positive effect of the import of import of mechanical and electronic products...
