In the modern world, the competition between countries has become to the competition of different industries of different countries. Similar, the competition among different areas is becoming the competition within the same industries of different places. Developing the important advantage industry of one area now is one of the ways to show itself in the cruel competition environment. Equipment manufacturing industry (EMI) is the backbone in the country's economy and takes a large proportion in the industry GDP. The EMI should be improved so that it can largely increase the competence of one area's industry. So far, the EMI has become the first industry in Liaoning province. It plays an important role in the economy development to find how to found the core competence in the Liaoning EMI.This paper begins with the expounding theory of the industrial core competence, then researches which position of Liaoning EMI is in the whole country and what is it advantage and disadvantage, last analyzes how to develop the advantage to support some suggestions to the development of Liaoning province. Chapter 3, the author narrates the basic theory of industrial core competence. It includes the concept of industry, the basic theory of industrial core competitiveness and the evaluation index system of industrial core competence. Chapter 4, the author founds the evaluation index system of EMI core competence using the Principal Component Analysis methods and evaluating the Liaoning EMI core competitiveness, then point out the basic factor of restricting the development. Chapter 5, the author expounds the methods and ways to increase the competition ability of Liaoning EMI from the four parts: strategy innovation, enterprise system innovation, technical innovation and management innovation.
