The Equipment Manufacturing Industry Competitiveness Research In Anhui Province

As an important pillar of the national economy, the development ofthe equipment manufacturing industry has important strategicsignificance to the country’s comprehensive strength ascension. Ourcountry put a new premium on the equipment manufacturing industrydevelopment in recent years and promoted competitiveness of theequipment manufacturing industry through a variety of policy measures.In the above context the equipment manufacturing industry in Anhuiprovince took the eastern developed areas’ industrial transfer as anopportunity, made full use of the province’s unique location and resourceadvantage and by doing so, the equipment manufacturing industrycompetitiveness level had made great progress and became one ofprovincial pillar industries. However, there are still gaps compared withdeveloped areas in industry scale, technological innovation,manufacturing level, etc. Therefore, in order to achieve the strategictarget of "powerful industrial province" in Anhui province, seize the goodopportunity of state’s vigorous urbanization construction promoting,industrial restructuring&upgrading, quickening rise of central China aswell as Wan Jiang city belt construction, realize the real blossom ofAnhuilocal economy, we need to study in-depth the equipment manufacturing industry competitiveness inAnhui province.This paper, first of all, on the basis of related research and theory athome and abroad, introduces the development situation of the equipmentmanufacturing industry in Anhui province, uses Porter’s "diamond model"for reference to carry on a thorough analysis in various factorsinfluencing the competitiveness of equipment manufacturing industry inAnhui province, solves the realistic environment and basic problems ofthe equipment manufacturing industry competitiveness cultivation inAnhui province. Secondly, through the comprehensive index selection,evaluation index system building and empirical analysis, this paper on theone hand uses various indicators to analyze and compare thecompetitiveness situation between equipment manufacturing industries inAnhui province, on the other hand, uses principal component analysis todetermine competitiveness index weight and works out the nationalcompetitiveness rankings of equipment manufacturing industry in Anhuiprovince. Through the empirical analysis, it is concluded that theelectrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry in Anhuiprovince has obvious comparative advantage, it is ranked no.5in nationand is the competitive industry in the development of equipmentmanufacturing industry in Anhui province. The competitiveness of otherbasic industries is relatively in the middle upper level across the country.Finally, on the basis of competence factor analysis and empirical analysis, combining with the situation of development in Anhui’s equipmentmanufacturing industry, this paper puts forward concrete countermeasuresand suggestions to improve competitiveness of equipment manufacturingindustry in Anhui province from the aspects of enterprise andgovernment.
