The Risk Management Of Middle And Small Construction Projects

Risk management is not limited in finance and insurance by the growth of it. It is used in lots of trades and fields. In the engineering construction, the appliance of risk management is popular step by step. But this appliance is limitied in some large construcion projects and feasibility studies of engineering projects at present. For the implement of middle and small construction projects, the study and appliance of risk management are lacking. The risk management is hardly carried out in the middle and small construction projects in China nowadays. The managers of the projects just deal with the risks depend on their experience. As so as it is not enough that controling the risks of construction projects only depends on some managers of projects. So to explore a practicable and suitable method for risk managemet of middle and small construction projects has a great meaning.Firstly, it introduced the history of the risk management developmet and the situation of the risk management reseach internal and abroad. It starts with two cases of true construction projects in this article. Author of this article participates in the two projects and goes through the whole process. The first case is an ordinary project of Civil Engineering. It lies to a developing district of a country in Beijing. According to the result of the author and his students'reseach, applying the method of experts marking, P·i and so on, it summarize the public risks of the middle and small construction projects and studying these risks. The second case is an express way project. Just according to the real situation of the project to analyze the risks. It prefers the gathering table of the risk elements and methods of controling risks for the middle and small construction projects at last. This conclusion is the main achievement of the article. During the process of the reseach, the author kept touch with the experts taking part in the investment. Communicating each other with some questions and information, try to adjust the analysis continuously. It is made up of three steps of the investment. The experts Taking part in the investment were the same group. The first step of investment is carried out against P·I analysis of the case A. The second step of investment is carried out against P·I analysis of the middle and small construction projects. The third step of investment is carried out against AHP analysis of the same risks in the second step. The conclusion shows that the risks of contract are the most important for the middle and small construction project. It also shows that the risks of safe accident are ignored.These results and experience can be used in the same kind of risk management of construction projects.It put forward an ordinary progress of risk management for middle and small construction projects in this article. According to some experience abroad and inside, a few formated files of risk management and essentials of writing the plan of risk management are provided in the appendix. They are refered to the managers of construstion projects.
