Process, Mechanism And The Development Trend Of The Urbanization Of Beijiang Urban Region In Xinjiang

Urbanization is a long-standing but flourishing and fadeless topic. Many scholars at home and abroad has making research of urbanization from multi-layered perspectives. In view of the integrated and growing urban and regional groups, population, as the most dynamic element in urban region, has taken more and more attachment in the complex PREE system of the urban region. And we should not only concerned about the linear growth of the urbanization level, but also pay more attention to the internal mechanism and the interaction between society and the economy of the urbanization process. And Beijiang urban region, as the topical semi-arid northwest region, has a vast geographical area, specific location and natural conditions, a fragile ecological environment and complex cultural factors, and its process of urbanization should be unique and non-regional replicable. This paper aims to deeply explore the characteristics of the urbanization process in Beijiang urban regionBasing on the data collation of Statistical Yearbook and the mathematical analysis methods, this paper gives the following conclusions:(1) Multiple factors such as the political factors, the military reclamation policy, the exploitation of natural resources and the transportation, have made enormous contributions to the development of Beijiang urban region. Contemporary Beijiang urban region show many feature in the process of urbanization, such as the high level of numerical representation of the urbanization, the uneven geographical distribution, resource exploitation being more pulling effect of urbanization than the traditional agriculture economy. Then, many problems in the population development, such as fast increasing, low quality, poor population and the minority group ,have restricted the economic development and the social advancement.(2) This paper analyze the relationship bewteen the level of urbanization and its impact factors of the fifteen cities in Beijiang urban region by using the gray relational analysis method. According to calculated data, the level of urbanization of the cities in Beijiang urban region have an high correlation with the population size, the number of employees countryside, crop farming area, etc. But the related degree bewteen the level of urbaization with GDP, per capita GDP, total urban fixed assets investment and per home income in rural residents are very low.(3) The population of Beijiang urban region has a unique Ternary-Structure, which are the military reclamation population, agricultural population and non-agricultural population (resource-based population). They have the different characteristics in liquidity, the industrial structure and the capacity to attract population. Then, the Ternary-Structure of the population produce the three fuctional cities as resource-based city, the military reclamation city and the general city. Three fuctional cities have governed by the natural and man-made factors. Overall, resource-based cities are the leader in the urbanization promotion, military reclamation cities are the foundtion and the general cities are the intension power of the urbanization.(4) Beijiang urban region has a special characteristics of the population scale system. The high urban primacy index and the extremely uneven distribution are it's another two characteristics of the population spatial distribution. The spatial distribution of population density are being a "three-spire" and "saddle-shaped" distribution shape. Urumqi is the " Top", and with the disitence farther away from Urumqi, other cities have the smaller the population density. But, Kuytun, Shihezi, Wujiaqu are different.(5) By the P-R-E model this paper estimates the modest population size of the region, but the actual population is much higher than the capacity of a modest population. So the population of Beijiang urban region has been sentenced to overload status scale, and it has a significant impact on the environment.
