Study On Ecological Interest Of China's International Trade Based On Emergy Analysis

During the last ten years, China's export volume has increased rapidly, as well as our trade surplus. It seems that we benefit a lot in foreign trade. However, our country still takes the "high input, high consumption" production pattern, and most of the goods are in the lower position of the value chain, so it is probably a big erosion of the ecological benefits behind the huge trade surplus. This paper uses the newest method in the research of ecosystem value—emergy analysis, studying the ecological benefit in our foreign trade comprehensively and objectively, in order to have some help to improve ecological environment, protect ecological benefits and promote healthy and stable development of economy.This paper follows the frame of "the theoretical review-the theoretical analysis-the present situation-the empirical analysis-measures" to launch the research.First, from the aspects of ecological factors and the economy sustainable development, the transnational flow of ecological factors and the emergy analysis, this paper concludes and comments the domestic and foreign research on the basis of defining the essential concepts.Second, this paper analyzes the ecological factors' functions to the economy sustainable development with the theory on production factors and on economic growth, and studies the factors influencing the ecological consumption rate introducing the ecological factors into the endogenous growth model. Then use the factor flow theory and the Rybczynski theorem to analyze the mutual influence of ecological factors and the goods trade. At last, the paper researches the function of the development of the capital and labor to the production and export of the ecological factor-intense products by introducing the ecological factors into the Edgeworth Box.Third, the paper calculates the import and export emergy of every industry and every product and explains the phenomenon of the double trade surplus with the methods of emergy analysis which have been introduces. On this basis, the paper makes an empirical analysis on the factors influencing the ecological factors consuming rate.Forth, the last part studies on the foreign trade ecological benefit from the angles of structure of market and trading goods. The first one compares Chinese ecological factor flow with that of the USA, Japan and the EU, as well as the emergy indexes. The second one compares Chinese trade emergy that of the USA, Japan and the EU. At last, the paper analyzes the relevance of the export of the Sino-US ecological-intense product and the emergy deficit, regarding that the co-integration relationship of them exists.Finally, the paper proposes the measures of promoting the foreign trade ecological benefits.
