Career plateau is a phenomenon that an individual subjectively considers himself to be with little or no possibility to gain promotion,more duty or challenge during his career in the future, because of organization structure,working responsibility,personal choice or job skill,etc.Through the interview and the questionnaire investigation of nearly 300 R&D Professionals in IT Company mainly in Guangdong province,the structure of forming causes and other analysis of career plateau about R&D Professionals in IT Company has been studied.A few of multiple statistics such as factor analysis,variance analysis and correlations analysis are applied in the data analysis.The research conclusions are drawn as follows.1.The structure of forming causes of career plateau about R&D Professionals in IT Company is consisted of three factors-Organization's human resources management system factors, individual factors of staff and family factors.2 The R&D Professionals' forming causes of career plateau are connected to their performance.3 Significant differences of forming causes of career plateau about R&D Professionals in IT Company are found by comparing the employees of different sex,different age,different education level,different working time.However,there are no significant differences in the eforming causes of career plateau about R&D Professionals in IT Company of different marital status and different professional posts.Current limitations and future research orientation were also discussed at the end of the dissertation.
