Non-governmental organizations, the important force in the international governance, have been dedicated to international economic and trade affairs for a long time, and also have a significant impact on the policy-making of WTO. Numerous facts have shown that the non-governmental organizations are important partners of WTO and essential elements to improve the WTO system and promote global trade liberalization. There are both cooperation and confliction between WTO and NGO. This kind of relationship between them, which is composed by interdependence and unity of opposites, definitely promote the international trade to develop and flourish. China is a large trading country in the world, and also a member of WTO. However, there is a large gap between the situation of NGOs in our country with that in developed countries. Giving full play to the functions of non-governmental organizations will enhance the international status of our country, strengthen the power to speak in international affairs, especially in Decision-making and dispute settlement in the international trade, and also conduce to the development and increase of our country's exporting trade for getting rid of the negative effects of the global economic crisis as soon as possible.This thesis starts with general theory of NGOs. Author looks back the history of the relationship between NGOs and WTO, and demonstrate both positive and negative impact of NGOs. All these above are fundament of author's conceive that a routine and secular corresponding in institution between WTO multilateral trade organization and NGOs will be established. Finally, this thesis also propose some corresponding advises for non-governmental organizations of our country to participate in the WTO , in order to promote non-governmental organizations to play a more active role in the multilateral trading system.The thesis contains four parts:The first part analyze and summarize the general theory of non-governmental organizations. First, the concept of non-governmental organizations have been defined. Further more, the author introduce the history of the rise and development of non-governmental organizations, and explain the realistic motivation and theoretical basis of non-governmental organizations' rise. Finally, the author discuss the impact ofnon-governmental organizations on international trade. The second part explains the role of non-governmental organizations and its impact on WTO in detail, combined closely with the relationship between them. First of all, the status of non-governmental organizations at WTO are analyzed. This part focus on demonstrating the participation of non-governmental organizations in the decision-making mechanism and dispute settlement mechanism of WTO as well as their impact on the WTO. This section is designed to be the foundation of the next part by analyzing the situation of non-governmental organizations' participating in WTO multilateral trading system, in order to further explore below how to construct a coordinating mechanism between them.The third part is the confliction and coordination between non-governmental organizations and WTO. Although non-governmental organizations have some limitation, and the international community partly hold negative attitude to non-governmental organizations' participating in WTO, the thesis confirm the possibility to create a coordinating mechanism between non-governmental organizations and WTO multilateral trade institution according-to the successful experience of cooperation between non-governmental organizations and other international organizations, and also demonstrate the framework of this mechanism.In the fourth part, combined with the analysis of the situation and problems of the non-governmental organizations in China, the author propose some recommendations for the non-governmental organizations' participating in WTO.
