With the fast rhythm of contemporary Chinese social transformation, a deep change has occurred in individual living style both in public and private areas. This change took the improvement of life quality as its target. Faced with such a situation, how to make tourism education improve the quality of students'lives is a real question that can not be ignored. From the beginning of tourism education to the present, the values that have been presumed are how to handover knowledge scientifically, how to operate technique in a proper way, and whether the trained students are adapt to the development in tourism. Besides these values give stress to conformity and obedience, standard and order, taking students as the passive knowledge receiver, instead of the active lives with a variety of human features. Students under this kind of training lack initiatives in tourism employment and high passion to make them into those who love lives, and understand the pleasures in tourism. To cope with these changes in our time, we should consider the influences of the social transformation on tourism education from a humanitarianism perspective, and reconsider tourism education. What's more, we should put students first. It is only based on this concept that we are able to explore the values in tourism education. The essay proceeds on the basis of that concept and inspects the current situation of the values in tourism education in our country. It concerns of the life demand of the students who are truly educated in the tourism education, concentrates on analyzing the new possibility and urgency of the values—caring for life, and provides new sources and abundant developing space.The paper consists of six parts. The first part is the introduction. It introduces the background and the basis of the topic and settles the content and outline. It not only points out the essay's theory meaning and practice values, but also brings up the problems that need to be solved. In the second part, it summarizes the relevant studies of school education values from inside and outside aspects, which stresses on the comments on the studies of life values. In the third part, it brings up the possibility and urgency of rebuilding the values in tourism education, after inspecting the values historically and practically, according to macro and micro aspects. In the forth part, it explains the human features, and mixes the life view with the tourism education connotation. Furthermore it recovers the natural condition of the values in tourism education and also extracts the life needs from new trend in it. The fifth part is the key point of the essay because it systematically analyzes the connotation and basis of the values in tourism education—caring for life and reconstructs the objective system of tourism education as well as practical and available measures. The sixth part is the conclusion, which reaffirms the basic summary and main points. It points out the main achievements, but also reveals the deficiencies. Finally it brings up the questions that need to be further studied.
