Life education is originally a hot topic that never goes out of fashion in education topics.With the changes of times’ characteristics,Life education has increasingly become an urgent need for society.In real life,Individuals have gradually lost their sense of revering life and have decreased their life consciousness.Although this is a common result of multi-factors,it reflects individuals have a lack of life morality and ethics.Therefore,expanding the meaning of life education in this aspect is still of great value for achieving individuals’ s integrity of life and decreasing the endless life problems in society.On the other hand,Albert Schweitzer,a recognized moral model in the world,believes that only the spiritual transformation of individual citizens can achieve the rejuvenation of the entire social civilization.He wants to influence the state of human existence through the ethics of "reverence for life" and establish the civilization philosophy.This kind of civilization philosophy can help individuals and society deal with many crises,which has a strong application value for setting the ethical cornerstone of life education in our country’s current life education.Accordingly,this article relies on Schweitzer’s "reverence for life" ethical thoughts to explain its meaning of life education,using the good goals to guide individuals’ identity of life,so that individuals can become the life-conscious ethical people in a real sense.First of all,this article systematically expounds the emergence and development process of Schweitzer’s "reverence for life" ethical thoughts.The prevalence of materialist culture in the West and the outbreak of the two world wars made Schweitzer see the fact of cultural decline clearly.Based on the reference and reflection of the ideas of the three masters of ancient Greece,Christianity,Goethe,Schopenhauer,and Nietzsche,Combined with his own practical experience,finally,he created the "reverence for life" ethical thoughts with distinctive characteristics of the times.Secondly,this article focuses on the analysis of the theoretical framework of "reverence for life" ethical thoughts from the perspective of life education.Schweitzer regards the equality of the value of life phenomena as the logical starting point,takes the self-transcendence of life will as the internal tension,and regards the practical ethics of moral action as a moral purpose.It can be seen that although its theory was not originally proposed for life education,it talked about life issues everywhere.Thirdly,the transformation of educational theory based on Schweitzer ’ s "reverence for life" ethical thoughts,specifically refers to the construction of the goals of life education from the perspective of the ethical connotation and Schweitzer ’ s own personal experience,and an in-depth introduction of the theory’s ultimate points in the meaning of life education,that is how his ethical thoughts penetrates into education and achieve the goals of life.It mainly includes three levels: from anthropocentrism to life-centrism,from life education to moral personality education that cares about all lives,and individuals to ethical people.Finally,under the guidance of the goal,I describe how the individual’s own life education actually occurs and develops.It mainly includes four processes:experience,awareness,action and integration.In each section,specific measures are proposed for discussion,and finally,the individual can achieve the perfection of self-moral personality and the transcendence of life in life education.The ethics of "reverence for life",as an internal belief,aims to guide and integrate the inner spiritual power of people,regards the realization of moral personality as the fundamental goal of individual life growth,and regards the virtues of sympathy,awe,dedication,and practice as the unanimous pursuit of the life community.Schweitzer’s continuous practice of "reverence for life" ethical thoughts with himself as a carrier still needs continuous development in the contemporary era,looking forward to demonstrate its strong vitality in the establishment of a complete life education system in our country.
