As Chinese tourism industry has been in a reformation period, the individual tourism is experiencing a rapid development. Now, the proportion of foreign independent tourists in Shandong Province has got to 60%. Compared with mass tourism stage, individual tourism requisition is becoming more and more popular today. In order to realize the sustainable development of tourism, we must optimize tourism spatial structure and have rational organization and distribution of tourism industry. The research on the foreign independent tourist (FIT) spatial behavior can help us reach the purpose. Based on lots of investigation and analysis of materials, this thesis makes a deep study on the feature and regular pattern of FIT spatial behavior. The basic theory of the paper is spatial behavior pattern theory, tourist flow theory, tourism geographical system theory, regional cooperation theory and so on.This article first attempts to analyze the definition of FIT and tourism spatial behavior and define the studying Objection. Based on the current situation of study at home and abroad, this article summarizes the results and shortages of the study. On the basis of the analysis of the current situation of tourism resources, total number of FIT, the action features of FIT, the information channels, the transportation styles and the travel purpose, this article finds the current problems about the development of the individual tourism in Shandong Province.Analyzing the categories of domestic tourism market, attraction radius of domestic tourism market, distance distribution of domestic tourism market, the of domestic tourism market's concentration degree, the main body of the thesis introduces the key characteristics of domestic tourism market and also summarizes the characteristics of domestic FIT spatial behavior in Shandong Province due to the analysis of influencing factors of spatial behavior, the study on the relationship of the disperse degree of the tourist attractions, ratings of the tourism recourses and the total number of domestic foreign independent tourist. Then, the thesis summarizes four kinds of tourism spatial behavior rules of domestic FIT in Shandong Province. This thesis also propose some suggestions, such as developing tourism information net, making effective marketing strategy, optimizing transportation system and tourist attractions structure, constructing FIT service system.To sum up, the innovation about the thesis mainly contains three sides. First, on the basis of the analysis of the current situation of study at home and abroad, the thesis tries to summarizes the theory about FIT and tourism spatial behavior. Second, make up some conclusions on domestic individual tourism market of Shandong Province, tourism spatial behavior in destination, travel style. Third, propose developing tourist attractions suppliers on internet and Constructing regional tourism cooperation models.
