Research On Traffic Planning In Wuhan East Lake Scenic Spots

As the development of tourism in China and the environmental protection consciousness filtering into people's minds, there has been increasing attention to the issue of the sustainable development and protection of scenic spots. As located in the built-up area of cities, urban scenic spots are in the face of the challenges of urbanization, so traffic problems can easily occurred in them, for examples types of mixed-flow traffic flows, conflicts between vehicles and humans, both seriously hampered the development of scenic spots. The transportation planning and construction has a direct impact on the sustainable protection and development of the scenic spots. As an urban scenic spot in the city of Wuhan, East Lake Scenic Spots is highly representative to the city-based scenic spots.The dissertation selects the East Lake Scenic Spot as the object of study,deeply analyzes the traffic flow features and the demand-supply relationship in East Lake,and summarize the rules and problems in it. In the delight of the traffic demand management policy (TDM) which aims at resolving the urban traffic problems in big cities in general use aboard at present, the dissertation makes a deep study on the theory mechanism, brings forward the theory of traffic planning based on TDM in East Lake Scenic Spot.The dissertation analyzes the types of traffic flows in East Lake Scenic Spot, gives a conclusion that there are two types of traffic flows which are tourist traffic and cross-border traffic. Then analyzes the factors to traffic flows demand at large, divides them into fundamental demand and induced demand in the interaction degrees, and expounds and proves the demand and capacity of tourism transportation on the basis of traffic observation on the East Lake scenic spot and relative document, then give a method to the forecast of the tourism traffic demand in East Lake Scenic Spot.The dissertation deeply analyzes the tourist source, accessibility, roads and parking facilities, the major means of transport, non-tourist traffic, and tourist traffic line on the basis of the investigation to the present situation of the traffic in East Lake, then give a summary to the problem of the traffic system and the reasons to the problem, in order to make preparations to solve the problem.The next the dissertation draws into the urban Traffic Demand Management theory, give a detail and elaborate analysis to the concept, the main basis of the theory and practice in foreign countries, and combine with the analysis of the traffic problems and traffic demand-supply, the feasibility and specificity that the traffic demand management applied to East Lake, the dissertation bring up the theory of traffic planning in East Lake Scenic Spot. At last, the dissertation makes a planning of the traffic in East Lake, focus on the planning of the main road circle lines, public transport routes, and the special-purpose way of high occupant vehicles (HOV) which has different limits in different times in East Lake.
