| It is essential to study the origin,evolution,development trend of ancient buildings which witness the history with concentration.The Yellow Crane Tower,located at the peak of Sheshan Mountain in Wuhan,boasts the fame as "Top Tower in the World" for its long history and cultural splender.The building also ranks in the club of "Top Three Towers in South China" together with Yueyang Tower in Hunan Province and Tengwang Tower in Jiangxi Province.The dissertation,taking the Yellow Crane Tower as research object,is to find out the historical phases of the tower which works as the thread of the thesis as well as the reasons and countermeasures of present tourism problems of the Yellow Crane Tower.Firstly,focusing the origin of the Yellow Crane Tower,The tower was constructed for military defense according to the time when the building bear the name and the place where the tower is located.The name of the Yellow Crane Tower was given due to the legend on a deity rather the mountain on which the tower is built.The image of the Yellow Crane Tower varies because of different conclusion that people draw on its origin.Secondly,elaborating the historical evolution of the Yellow Crane Tower.From Tang Dynasty to the Republic of China,changes have been undergoing both in the function and structure of the tower as well as the towers impression to people.The building has been reconstructed many times in the past with the latest refurbishment in 1985.The factors resulting in the evolution of the tower provide beneficial reference for protection of the tower.Protection on the culture of the tower is as fundamental as conservation of concrete building according to the historical evolution.Thirdly,studying the tourism of the Yellow Crane Tower.The building as the landmark of Wuhan has developed into a renowned scenic spot.The problem of tourism exploitation lies in the misjudgement on the cultural connotation of the tower.The plan in solving the problem,therefore,recommends that priority on the tourism development should be on its cultural crystallization.Several approaches on the tourism exploitation of the scenic spot also offered by the author. |
