Banks play a significant role in Chinese capital market. With an accelerating reform of bank system and capital market, especially after China's entry into the WTO, we have to give much attention to the impact of opening-up policy and stronger competition than ever. How to guide the domestic commercial banks to meet the challenge and strengthen their competitive power is vital to the development and stability of our financial market. And listed banks, which are the most competitive ones in China's banking, receive much attention from public. Therefore, how to evaluate listed banks' competitiveness has become a hot topic.Commercial banks competitiveness evaluation research needs a better framework of a theoretical system. This paper follows the competitiveness of commercial banks on the theory-Evaluation System Settings-Methods of Evaluation Study-Empirical evaluation of the logic of this line of thought, the number of scientific economics, statistical method of introducing the bank competitiveness evaluation, the evaluation of the competitiveness of the banks listed start System comprehensive study.This thesis goes as following: The chapter one is the interdiction; chapter two reviews the literature of core competence theory and introduces the main appraisal methods and the present studies of the commercial bank achievements and the competitiveness; chapter three give a deeply introduction of institutional change and the present situation of china listed commercial banks; chapter four collected date from 14 listed commercial banks and use SPSS 13.0 to make conduct empirical analysis; chapter five concluded the factor influencing the core competence and the feature of competitive banks, and then give some constructive suggestion.
