Transfer of rural labor force is the core of the problems of "Rural, Farmer and Agriculture". With a large number of rural surplus labor force being detained in rural areas, the development of rural economy has been lagged, the income lag between rural areas and urban areas has also been widened, which have influenced the stability and development of rural areas, and have finally hindered the whole economic development. The task of transferring rural labor force is still very hard, so, it is of great importance for constructing modern agriculture, developing rural economy, increasing farmers' income, and finally realizing the whole construction of a moderately prosperous society by studying on the trait and difficulties of the transfer of rural labor force in our country, dealing with the employment of rural labor force as well as promoting the harmonious development of both rural and urban areas.Since the reform and opening up to the outside world, the social and economic development have been uneven in different regions, which resulted in different traits in the transfer of labor force in different regions. By using Human Geographic and Demographic methods on studying this problem, such as statistics and GIS, this paper has firstly introduced the status quo of the transfer of our country's rural labor force and the regional differences in their scale, age, gender, education, industrial structure and destination places. Then, this paper studied the crucial factors that influencing the transfer of our country's rural labor force through qualitative and quantitative analysis. Finally, this paper discussed the effects of the transfer both on original and destination areas based on the above studies.Trough these studies, this paper found that because of the effects of economic development lever, industrial structure, development of town and township enterprises, quality of labor force and regional resources, etc. the transfer of our country's rural labor force has relatively large differences in scale, structure and destination. The main conclusions are as follow: The eastern coastal area keeps developing; central region is the major output origin place, rural labor forces in the northeast region transfer mainly in the inner areas, some provinces of large territory and small population have become attraction for small-scaled transfer population; The transfer labor force are mainly young men, most of them are junior middle school degree, concretely, eastern transfer labor force are younger and higher educated than western ones; The effect of "pull" is larger than the effect of "push"; During the last decade, the number of transfer rural labor forces in western and central areas has increased considerably, while that of the eastern and north eastern areas has just increased a little, the transfer rural labor forces of all the country tend to transfer to farther destinations; The transfer of rural labor forces did not cause negative effects on the development of agriculture or rural areas, conversely, it promotes the whole development of both rural and urban areas.
