Research On Restructuring Of Industry And Space Structure In Northern Port-city Under National Strategy Transformation

From both the view of economy trend and strategy background, home and abroad, the current situation is quite favorable to the northern port-cities, especially for those with large deepwater ports. The leading actor is just the northern port-cities when the economic and social development in China is going into the stage of coastalization. During the heavy-chemical industry stage, the most prominent advantage of area is coastal regions because most of this kind of industries needs large scale of transportation. What's more, as a resault of the lack of energy sources and raw materials, China is beginning to rely on imported oil, ore and other materials. The coming heavy industrialization, esp. the heavy industry development based on using imported materials, provides those northern port-cities which have deepwater port, abound resources, and excelent industrial base, with quite excellent opportunities to develop.This paper begins with discussion about features of port-city, port-city life circle and machenism of development and other basic theories; considers both industry and space both are the key chains linking port-city and the regions surrounding port-city. On the base of above basic theories, the author describes Tangshan's city development scale, industrial and spacial current situation, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Corresponding to above microanalysis, in this paper, the author generalizes the national strategic adjustments during the period of transconformation, from a more macroview. Moreover, the machenism of action, the effect and the future trend are respectively studied, according to different strategy. At last, through the SWOT matrix analysis, this paper generally judges and researches the facing opportunities and challenges which national strategic tansformations will bring to Tangshan; putting regional reaction and territorial division of development as the most important conditions of building the Gulf of Bohai's advanced industrial base and the point of national development, raises some countermeasures and advises for the future construction of Tangshan.
