The Study On Technology Spillover Of FDI In China

Since the 1990s,with the fast development of economic globalization,the international capital flow becomes more active.As the largest developing country, China is becoming a preferred location of FDI and head the list of all developing countries in the world for many years.When the FDI continued to decline sharply in the 2002,the number of China's FDI absorption come to 527 Billion dollars,which was more than that of the other countries,And the actual FDI of China come to 747.7 Billion dollars in 2007.After the FDI solves the shortage of funds in economic development,people pay more attention to whether FDI can promote technology progress,the study on technology spillover of FDI becomes the focus of theory fields.The results of theoretical studies and empirical studies have emerged,and the results of these studies provide an important basis for China to institute the policies of attracting investment which are suited to their national conditions.The dissertation makes an empirical study on the technology spillover of FDI on the basis of the theory study for the purpose of having a comprehensive and correct understanding of technological spillover in China,so as to propose direct countermeasures of strengthening the the technology spillover in China.The dissertation begins with review of relative studies on the technology spillover of FDI,then it analyzes the five mechanisms of competition,Imitation and so forth.After that,it analyzes briefly the profile and characteristics of FDI in China, as well as technology spillover in china,and then analyzes the factors of technology spillover.On this basis,it make an empirical study on technology spillover about the region and industry,the conclusions are as follows:the technology spillover of FDI in China exists.But the technology spillover is not so significant,and the technology spillover varies from region to region,as well as industry.On the basis of theoretical and empirical study,the dissertation proposes countermeasures of strengthening the technology spillover in China.We can improve our ability to absorb the technology spillover by increasing the investment in human capital and encouraging scientific research and establishing the industrial clusters.We can optimize our investment environment by building the competitive environment and perfecting market regulations,and adjustmenting the policies of attracting investment,with the aim of attracting more foreign capital by optimizing the investment environment and promoting technology progress by improving our absorption ability,so as to promote the economic development of our country rapidly and soundly.
