Political skill is a relatively new concept in the organization of science.At present, whatever in our country or abroad,the empirical studies in this area are relatively rare. Political skill will have an important and positive impact on the conduct of employee in the workplace.Thus,contributing to the realization of individual or organization goals, and it is quite important and meaningfulto the survival and development of organization and individual.In order to collect dates,the analysis of literature,interviews and questionnaires are comprehensively applied in this study.The exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis,variance analysis,correlation analysis,regression analysis and other statistical methods are used to investigate a total of more than 600 hundred enterprise staff.It preliminarily studies the structure dimension of political skills of staff in our country,and makes the political skill questionnaire of enterprise staff in our country. This study also further explores difference of political skill in the population statistics, as well as the relation of big five personality dimensions and political skills,political skill and contextual performance.These main conclusions of the study are listed below.1.The political skills of the staff questionnaire include 14 items,consists of three factors,namely,emotions expression dimension,interpersonal dimension and sceneries understand dimension.2.There is no significant difference of political skills among the enterprise staff of different sex,ages,education background and working time,comparatively,there is a significant difference of political skills among the enterprise staff of different job types and job levels.3.The five factors of personality and political skills are significant related,and the Big Five Personality in Extroversion,Conscientiousness,Neuroticism and Openness have a good prediction towards political skills,however,there is no sigrtificant prediction of Agreeableness towards political skills.Political skill has a significant relation between contextual performance and its dimensions.Political skill and its dimensions have a significant prediction with contextual performance and its dimensions.Finally,some shortcomings that exist in this study have been concluded,besides,the problems that need to resolve in the future study have also been explained.
