A Study On The Nature And The Reason Of Farmer Cooperative Organizations Of China

With the improving agricultural productivity and the opening agricultural product market of our country, the contradiction between household small production and the market become more and more noticeable. Under the circumstances, the farmer cooperative organizations appeared gradually and developped rapidly in our country in eighties of the twenty centrury. This new type of economic organization is a rational choice of farmers', which can solve the problem between the household small production and market while doesn't change the foundation of family-contract responsibility system. The healthy development of farmer cooperative organizations is a way to promote the development of mordern agriculture, fast new countryside development, increase the farmers'income and improve the farmers'living standards.It is necessary for us to make an intensive study on this new type of cooperative organization both in theory and practice. We should understand its nature, explore what it is on earth, why it comes out, what the main influencing factors are and which measures the government should take to promote its sound development.So, this thesis studied systemaytically on the reason and the nature of farmer cooperative organizations in China, linking to the domestic and international situation of farmer cooperative organizations. The main research methods are the combination of standardized analysis with concrete analysis. It mainly used the cost-and-income analysis when analyzing the reason of farmer cooperative organzations as an institutional arrangement. And it mainly used the game theory analysis when analyzing its inner cause. And the thesis also made a concrete analysis through comparing cases.This thesis sums up the main theory viewpoints about the farmer cooperative organizations on the basis of domestic and international practice. It believes that the farmer cooperative organizations of our country have special exterior characteristics and internal characteristics. And it sums up its definition.The farmer cooperative organization is a new tpye of economic organization, and it has special connotation. It is different from the firm and the market. It is an inter-organization which follows the basic rules of intertional cooperative. And in the practice, it can connect the farmer and the firm.The appear of farmer cooperative organizations in our country is the rational choice of the farmers'. Then, what's the reason of this organization ? On the one hand, as a inter-organization, farmer cooperative organizations have more advantages than firm and market in Agriculture because it can save the transaction costs and management costs. On the other hand, it is a result of main participants'game theory. And the participants include farmers with big or small production scale, government apartments ,agricultural firm and so on. In the institutinal arrangement, only when the main participants can improve theire own economic coditions, would possibly come out the farmer cooperative organizations.There are many factors that affect the farmer cooperative organizations'arising and development. Linking to the present situation of farmer cooperative organizations in our country, it is needed to notice the following factors such as agricultural land property relations, agricultural technology innovation, agrcultural market conditions, the economic activities of farmers'and government policy. In order to promote the development of farmer cooperative organizations , the government at all levels should accelerate making the relative policies and put more emphasis on publicity .
