In the world garment industry value chain,Chinese apparel enterprises located in a low value-added,high energy consumption aspect of processing and manufacturing.Continuous decline in trade competitiveness of garment industry,and poor profitability of apparel enterprises showed an urgent need for value chain upgrade of both enterprise and industry.Combined with characteristics of garment trade,this paper firstly studied the value-added and resource consumption distribution of the world garment industry value chain from industry value chain perspective,and drew a conclusion of Chinese garment trade upgrade.Secondly,based on theories of enterprise value chain and value creation,this paper analyzed the value creation condition of Chinese apparel enterprises according to profitability and operating level,and proposed an idea of V-C(customer value minus cost) maximization as solution to increase value creation.Finally,from perspectives of enhancing V and reducing C,author provided specific countermeasures for increasing Chinese garment trade value creation.
