Research On Ecology Of Highway Construction

With China's rapid socio-economic development, as a leading industry in the development of the national economy, infrastructure construction, represented by transportation, gains more and more attention. It is true that highway construction and development not only improves the travel conditions of the public, but also speeds up the transportation of social logistics and promotes the development of information and other related industries, which indicates its important role in providing strong support in the continuous socio-economic development. However, highway construction in the transportation industry brings certain negative impact on the society we are living in, for instance, the deterioration of the original natural ecological environment along the highway due to the occupation of a vast amount of land, as well as the soil erosion, damage of drainage conditions, natural disasters caused by various factors generated during construction process which will disturb people's production and life, and worsen the destruction on the nature made by human beings. Therefore, during the highway construction, it is extremely important to put the emphasis on the protection and restoration of the natural environment as per the requirements concerning the scientific development, the establishment of a harmonious, resource-saving and environmental-friendly society, which is of great importance and far-reaching significance in promoting the civilized socio-economic development.From the perspective of highway construction, this essay probes into the ecological environment protection and restoration. Based on the analysis and understanding on relevant subjects and incorporating the reality of highway ecology development system both home and abroad, the purpose and realistic significance of the research on highway ecology is studied so as to strengthen the protection and restoration of the damage on the environment along the highway during construction due to some inevitable natural and artificial causes resulted in the design and construction stage to the maximum, and carry out the minimum destruction. In order to achieve the simultaneous implementation of protection and rehabilitation for highway ecology during construction, it is required to start with the project proposal for ecological highways. Design should be scientifically carried out after the approval for ecological feasibility study based on the actual situation. Especially ecological construction and engineering construction should be perfectly combined with each other so as to maximize the protection for the natural environment along the alignment and minimize the destruction for the environment, which can realize the integration and harmony of highways and natural environment. In this essay, a construction and management model for highway ecological projects is established. Staring from the feasibility study of highway ecological projects, comprehensive simulation analysis is conducted from the aspects of design, construction, supervision and operation evaluation. Methods and criteria on the implementation of highway ecological projects are found out so that a set of theoretical approaches is formed conforming to the actual development situation of China's highway ecological projects which will facilitate the rational application of the protection and restoration of natural environment during high-grade highway construction.
