Tianjin was occupied by Japan on July 30,1937.Traitors set up a puppet regime and governed Tianjin With the assistance of Japanese secret services.Tianjin was dominated by four regimes from 1937 to 1945:Tianjin Vigilante,Pingjin Region Vigilante,Provisional Republic of China,Political Council for North China.Japanese had set up various combinations with pillaging materials of China,also retained Chinese organizations,such as the Chamber of Commerce,to practice its control policies.Under the rule of Puppet Regime,the Chamber of Commerce in Tianjin mainly undertook financial control,food control,political control and so on.The organizations and personnel for the Chamber of Commerce were not change too much in form,but in fact,the Chamber of Commerce must always request Japan and Puppet Regime before execution.It couldn't decide the re-election,personnel and the management of the trade association.In essence,the Chamber of Commerce was a non-governmental organization any more.When dealing with prices and food issues,the Chambers of Commerce sacrificed the interests of businessmen,maintaining the low-price policy of the puppet regime, contrary to the purpose of safeguarding businessmen.In the Anti-British Activity and Campaign for Tightening Public Security,the Chamber of Commerce loyally played a role of executant.In conclusion,the Chamber of Commerce in Tianjin had become the tool of Japan and puppet regime.
