As global competition intensifies, Third Party Logistics(TPL) become an important way to lower logistics costs, improving the level of logistics services and train the core competitive. With TPL developing rapidly, the development of Third Party Logistics Providers (TPLP) is more and more concern. The strategic alliances as an important model of TPLP, which a growing number of TPLP choose, have attracted scholars at home and abroad. In the existing literature and research results, researchers study TPL strategic alliance from the perspective of companies which demand for logistics services and logistics services suppliers, or simply research conditions for the formation of alliances, the implementation process, and the choice of alliance partners. Even researchers note the logistics alliance as a new relationship among enterprises, they always research the role of vertical alliance between TPLP and other enterprises in creating the value, and hardly study on the alliance strategy and the stability of horizontal alliance among TPL providers from a strategic management perspective in the literature.Different from previous research methods and contents in the existing literature, this paper selects horizontal strategic alliances between TPL providers as a major study object. Firstly, it gives an economics analysis, which is based on resource basic theory and resource dependence theory, core competence theory and transaction cost theory, for strategic alliance among TPLP. Secondly, it studies the construction of alliance strategy among Third Party Logistics Providers, and illustrates that logistics enterprises will increase the yield by forming alliance. Moreover, the external environment of logistics enterprises is helpful to form stable alliance. Finally, based on the profit allocation angel, it studies the internal factors that affect the alliance of logistics enterprises and comes to a profit allocation model which is useful for TPLP to develop steadily. And it is applied to the profit allocation among cooperation partners in the alliance, which provides reference for the partners to devise rational profit allocation strategy and for keeping stability of the alliance.
