Study On Positioning ATM Of Away From Bank Based On GIS In Weihai, China Construction Bank

Bank automatic machine (ATM),an easily-operated facility for modern banking,can provide banking service regardless of time and improve bank's transaction efficiency. So ATM is essential for commercial banking. Especially after China's accession to the WTO, major banks in order to deal with foreign competition in the banking sector, improve the core competitiveness of domestic banks to speed up its restructuring, the major commercial banks have to develop self-service financial services industry. However, now the problems are the site of the ATM Distribution in China is unreasonable, the density of some very large regional ATM points. This is very easy to increase competition .The density of some regional is very small. Especially some large banking network in some regional there are gaps. This cannot provide a better service for customer. How scientific and rational setting up of bank ATM points need to become an important problem.By investigating the influencing factors of ATM location through a survey of ATM example which is Weihai, China Construction Bank construction bank, the research is analyzed by principal component analysis (PCA) and provide the following influencing factors with respect to ATM location: population density nearby, number of small businesses, public service facilities, institutes of higher learning, traffic convenience and distribution of competing bank branches.This paper is divided into four parts: firstly, we introduced the research about ATM at home and abroad .What problems there are, the research purpose and meaning as well as structural arrangements. And we pointed out the innovation of this article. Secondly, we give an overview of the project site and the ATM machine location-related industries. And we discussed classical location theory of commercial retail, location theory of service facilities and location theory of commercial bank branches. Then, with the introduction of the ATM site using geographic information system (GIS) theory and technology , we discussed the major factors associated with how to determine the ATM location. Finally ,we determine location-related regional demand model, regional selection model and location selection model. Taking high-tech industry of Weihai as an example. We explained how to apply the model to determine the location of added ATM.
